Camp Kodiak has a comprehensive sailing program that provides campers an opportunity to get on the water and harness the power of the wind!  All campers sail with a qualified instructor.  Time on the boat centres around instruction, so campers are given the opportunity to participate in all aspects of sailing, from rigging the boat, to steering, and manning the sails.

Experienced sailors can have the opportunity to earn a 'solo' by demonstrating their ability to safely handle the sailboat in a variety of conditions, and this allows them to take out a boat independently.

 

While the hope is to help campers develop their skills, the main focus of the sailing program is to have positive experiences, excitement, and fun on the water.
